Shri V. Murleedharan, Hon’ble Minister of State for External Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs inaugurates the newly constructed Road Under Bridge (RuB) at Bhimavaram

Vijayawada Division eliminated 11 Manned Level Crossings and constructed 24 RuBs in the current year

Shri V. Murleedharan, Hon’ble Minister of State for External Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs inaugurated the Newly constructed Road Under Bridge (RuB) No. 231 in lieu of Level Crossing No. 115 near Bhimavaram Town Railway Station on 24th December. 2022. Shri Shivendra Mohan, Divisional Railway Manager, Vijayawada Division and Senior Officials of Vijayawada Division took part in the inauguration programme at Bhimavaram.

The RuB was constructed with a cost of Rs.22 Crore by RVNL Officials and this comes as big relief to the Daily Commuters by avoiding traffic congestion in the busy Commercial streets of Bhimavaram. With this Vijayawada Division has eliminated 11 Manned Level Crossings and constructed 24 RuB in the current year.

Shri V. Murleedharan, Hon’ble Minister of State for External Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs inaugurated the event by lighting the lamp along with Distinguished Guests. Addressing the gathering, Shri V. Murleedharan, Hon’ble Minister of State said that Nation is steering forward with the principle of Sab Ka Saat- Sab ka Vikas and ensuring cooperative federalism in true spirit by facilitating inclusive growth and inclusive development of states under the leadership of Shri Narendra Modi Ji. Union Minister stated that RuB 231 proves to be a big boon for the denizens of Bhimavaram & West Godavari District by improving the ease of access and life and also connecting the city with National Highway No. 16 & 216. He congratulated the Officials of Vijayawada Division for undertaking the critical task of constructing RuB No. 231, adjacent to the drain canal and accomplishing it in a record time of 7 months. He also said that Railways have completed the Branch line doubling, along with 100% electrification, 4 other RuBs in the Bhimavaram and redeveloped the Branch line stations with modern ticket counters, new station buildings and better passenger amenities. He said that the Centre is giving a major boost to Infrastructural Development across all the important cities and have increased the infrastructural allocation to states by leaps and bounds. He also said that the Centre is committed and working with determination to meet the developmental aspirations of the People of Andhra Pradesh.

Shri K Moshen Raju Hon’ble Chairman, Legislative Council thanked the Union Minister and Centre for providing big relief to the daily commuters of Bhimavaram by constructing this RuB and 4 other RuBs in the city. Shri G.V.L Narsimha Rao expressed his happiness and thanked the Centre and Railway Minister on behalf of the people of A.P. for executing critical infrastructural projects on the fast track.

Shri Shivendra Kumar, Divisional Railway Manager, Vijayawada Division thanked Shri V. Murleedharan and Distinguished guests for gracing the inauguration ceremony. DRM said that Division is eliminating the level crossings at key locations on a war footing. DRM also said that the elimination of Level Crossings in the Division will help to maintain the sectional speed of the train and results in lesser travelling time for passengers.
