Vijayawada Division observes 66th Mahaparinirvan Diwas at Divisional Headquarters
Vijayawada Division observed Mahaparinirvan Diwas of Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar on 6th December, 2022 at Divisional Headquarters, Vijayawada. Floral tributes were paid to Babasaheb to mark his death anniversary. Shri Shivendra Mohan, DRM, Vijayawada Division graced the occasion as Chief Guest.
At
the outset Shri Shivendra Mohan, DRM, Vijayawada paid homage by garlanding the
statue of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar and lighting the lamp. Addressing the gathering
present Shri Shivendra stated that the people of India remember Bharat Ratna
Dr. B.R. Ambedkar every day for his big gift to the Nation, the Constitution of
India which provides equality, freedom and justice to all. He always fought for
the rights of down trodden and under privileged people. We have to ensure that
our future generations get good education as it is the founding stone of growth,
development and prosperity of any society.
Shri
D Srinivas Rao, ADRM (Infrastructure) said that Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar not only
studied various subjects but utilized his education to bring about change in
the society and develop an equal opportunity world for us all. We all should must
also put our education to better use for our organisation and in turn the
Nation will develop.
Shri
M Srikanth, ADRM (Operations), speaking on the occasion, said that the day
gives us another opportunity to think and work on the ideals of the Chief
Architect of the Indian Constitution, Dr. B R Ambedkar. He not only lived by
example but also ensured constitutional rights are available for all, and hence
we can enjoy them today. He is not only one of the greatest intellectuals of our
Nation but is also known throughout the world as a harbinger of social justice.
We all should dedicate ourselves and follow his ideals to the extent possible
in our lives.
Mahaparinirvan
Diwas is observed every year on 6th December to commemorate the death of Dr. B
R Ambedkar. Parinirvan is a Sanskrit term which means release or freedom after
death. Dr. Ambedkar, having studied the religion extensively emerged as a
Buddhist leader and guru following his conversion to Buddhism. Owing to Baba
Saheb's status as a Buddhist leader, his death anniversary is referred to as
Mahaparinirvan Diwas.

Staff of Vijayawada Division along with members and office bearers of AISCT &
OBC Association, SCRMU and SCRES also paid humble tributes to Bharat Ratna Dr.
B. R. Ambedkar.
