Shri Shivendra Mohan, DRM, Vijayawada inaugurates Augmented Kitchen-Dining Hall and Walking Track at ETTC, Vijayawada

Shri Shivendra Mohan, Divisional Railway Manager, Vijayawada Division, South Central Railway inaugurated Augmented Kitchen cum Dining Hall and 260 Mtr long Walking track for the trainee Loco Pilots today i.e., 24th May, 2023 at Electric Traction & Training Centre (ETTC), Satyanarayanapuram, Vijayawada. Shri D. Srinivasa Rao, ADRM, Infrastructure and Shri M. Srikanth, ADRM, Operations accompanied Shri Shivendra Mohan, DRM in the inauguration event. 

ETTC, Satyanarayanapuram, Vijayawada imparts various trainings viz., initial, refresher, promotional, conversional, simulator training on train dynamics and special courses to Running, TRS, EMU & TRD staff of the whole  South Central Railway and occasionally to staff of other Railways on their request. Training on  3-phase locomotives was also commenced from January 2007. On an average 7000 Loco Pilot trainees avail the training programme in various categories every year. ETTC is equipped with hostel and canteen facilities for the trainees. The Kitchen and dining hall for the trainees was newly renovated and augmented with extra space and increased seating capacity with a cost of Rs .30 Lakh. Earlier Kitchen cum Dining area was increased from 3600 Square ft to 5000 Square ft and converted into open type Kitchen. The newly augmented kitchen is provided with Separate Wash area, bio gas plant,  new cooking, grinding equipment and cutlery.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Shivendra Mohan, DRM said that the Division is always at the forefront in implementing staff welfare measures. He said that ETTC is a premier organization and a centre for excellence in imparting training to the Loco Pilots, who are most crucial and essential in every day working of Railways. DRM stated that ETTC had achieved many awards in the field of Energy conservation, green initiatives and made the Division proud on several occasions.  After inauguration, DRM inspected the kitchen, wash area and storage area and advised the staff to give top priority to hygiene, and not to compromise on quality of food and service. The DRM congratulated Shri Sreenivasa Rao, Konda, Sr. DEE, Operations and Shri K. Sridhar, DEN, East and ETTC Staff for completing the renovation work in record time and reopening it for trainees. DRM appealed to the all trainees to avail the services of the newly augmented Kitchen and dining space.  Later, DRM and other senior officials inaugurated the 260 mtr long walking track at ETTC. The walking track along with badminton courts and cricket box developed at a cost of Rs 5 lakh by removing the wild vegetation
