Vijayawada Division in collaboration with AP Pollution Control Board holds “Mission LiFE Bicycle Rally” on Lifestyle & Environmental Awareness

Around 100 Bharat Scouts & Guides Students took part in the Bicycle rally to spread awareness on Lifestyle for Safe Environment.

South Central Railway, Vijayawada Division in collaboration with AP Pollution Control board Officials organized Mission Life Bicycle Rally on Lifestyle & Environmental Awareness on 17th May, 2023, from Railway Mini Stadium, Vijayawada. The rally was flagged off by Dr. L. Ravikant, ACMS, Administration Railway Hospital, Vijayawada and Shri T. Prasada Rao, Environmental Engineer, APPCB Regional Office. Around 100 Bharat Scouts & Guides, Vijayawada Students took part in the Bicycle rally to spread awareness on Lifestyle Changes for Safer Environment.

The objective of this Mission LiFE Campaign is to encourage individuals and communities to practice lifestyle that is synchronous with nature i.e., simple behavioral changes in their daily lives, which translates into significant contribution toward climate action.

The Bicycle rally was jointly undertaken by 100 Bharat Scouts & Guides, Divisional Railway Hospital Staff, APPCB Officials early in the morning by holding the placards bearing the messages of #SaveEnergy #ConserveWater # AvoidPlastic and #UseClothBags etc. messages. The rally started at Mini Stadium and proceeded via Old government Hospital and culminated at Railway Hospital New OPD Block. Shri T. Prasada Rao, Environmental Engineer, APPCB Regional officer thanked the Bharat Scouts & Guides, Railway Administration for making this public outreach campaign a grand success. He said that such awareness drives would be taken regularly, till it becomes a mass movement among denizens to protect and preserve the Ecosystem.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. L. Ravikant, ACMS expressed his immense pleasure and happiness in taking part in this bicycle rally. Dr. L. Ravikant said that cycling is very good cardio work out and appealed to  the gathering to use cycles as means of to reach work place and school. He said that Cycling simultaneously reduces our dependence on fossil fuels and also it is the best exercise for the body every day. Later, Dr. L. Ravikant  distributed prizes to winners of drawing competition recently held on “Save Environment”. In the end, Meri LiFE Pledge was administered to the Bharat Scouts & Guides Students.

Dr. M. Sowri Bala, Chief Medical Superintendent, Railway Hospital, Vijayawada complimented the efforts of Bharat Scouts & Guides, APPCB Officials and Railway Hospital Staff for carrying out this awareness campaign. CMS appealed to the public to come forward, make necessary changes in daily life to protect the environment & ecosystem. She also said that Mission Life campaign was launched to promote mindful & judicious use of available energy, water and other available resources and make it a regular habit.
