Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister Lays foundation stone for Redevelopment of Anakapalle Railway Station under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme

Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for redevelopment of 508 Railway stations across the Nation including Anakapalle Railway station under the Amrit Bharat Station scheme today i.e., 06th August, 2023 through Remote Video link. 

Smt. Jallipalli Subhadra, Hon’ble Chairperson Zilla Parishad, Visakhapatnam graced the Foundation Stone laying ceremony event at Anakapalle Railway Station and witnessed Hon’ble PM address. Smt. Dr. B V Satyavathi, Hon'ble Member of Parliament, Anakapalle; Shri Pakalapati Raghu Varma, Hon'ble Member of Legislative Council; Shri Ravi Pattanshetti, District Collector, Anakapalle, Railway officials of Vijayawada Division, SCR, and other senior officials from different Central Government Ministries also took part in the event at Anakapalle. Amrit Bharat Station scheme envisaged by the Ministry of Railways is aimed to modernize Railway stations and bring in major change & transformation in the landscape of Indian Railways by enhancing passenger experience and comfort.

At New Delhi, on this momentous occasion, Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister said that this day will be heralded as history in making and will be a beacon of positive change, as we are paving way for the large scale up gradation of infrastructure at 508 Railway Stations under Amrit Bharat Station scheme.  Shri Narendra Modi said that this redevelopment programme will immensely benefit the populace of the country; aids in Nation’s Progress and boost the economy of India. On this momentous occasion, Shri Narendra Modi extended his heartfelt greeting to citizens of the Nation and appealed the public to contribute to the growth and development of our beloved India

Smt. Jallipalli Subhadra, Hon’ble Chairperson Zilla Parishad, Visakhapatnam conveyed her heart felt greetings for the initiative of Ministry of Railways on choosing 18 Stations across Andhra Pradesh in the first phase of Amrit Bharat Station Scheme and setting tone for remarkable changes and development that we are about to witness in near future. All the Dignitaries expressed happiness over the redevelopment programme launched by Railways under Amrit Bharat Scheme at Anakapalle Railway Station with a cost of Rs. 27.1 Cr, which shall ensure world class and best passenger amenities for travelling public.

Smt. Jallipalli Subhadra, Hon’ble Chairperson Zilla Parishad, Visakhapatnam and Dignitaries on Stage unveiled the Plaque at Anakapalle Railway Station after Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble laid foundation stone for 508 Railway Stations redevelopment apart of Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. 

The Amrit Bharat station scheme (ABSS) is aimed to modernize Railway stations, envisaging development on a continuous basis with a long-term vision. Under South Central Railway, 112 stations across six divisions are set to see the change as part of redevelopment under ABSS and major upgradation of stations. As part of the first phase of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, foundation stone was laid for 50 Railway stations in SCR jurisdiction i.e., 21 Stations in Telangana, 15 Stations in Andhra Pradesh, 13 Stations in Maharashtra and 1 Station in Karnataka at a combined cost of nearly Rs. 2.079.29 Crore. Anakapalle station is being taken up for development under “Amrit Bharat Station Scheme” at a cost of nearly Rs.  27.1 Crore.
