Shri Narendra A Patil, DRM holds Press Conference on Redevelopment of 11 Stations under Amrit Bharat Stations Scheme

Hon’ble PM to lay foundation stone for Redevelopment of 508 Stations of across Indian Railways on 06th August, 2023

Shri Narendra A Patil, Divisional Railway Manager, Vijayawada Division, SCR presided over Press Conference with Electronic & Print Media personnel on 04th August, 2023 at Divisional Conference Hall, Vijayawada. Shri Narendra A Patil briefed the media on Re-development of 11 Stations over Vijayawada Division under Amrit Bharat Stations Scheme on the occasion. Shri D. Srinivasa Rao, ADRM, Infrastructure and Shri M. Srikanth, ADRM, Operations and Branch Officers took part in the Press Conference.

Addressing the Media, Shri Narendra A. Patil, DRM said that Amrit Bharat Stations Scheme (ABSS) is an inspiring vision of our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji to improve the station experience for passengers across India. DRM stated that the genesis of this idea has its roots from strong determination and passion of Government to provide world class amenities and serve the citizens of the country in a better way. He added that during Phase -1 of ABSS Scheme 11 stations viz. Anakapalle, Bhimavaram Town, Eluru, Kakinada Town, Narsapur, Nidadavolu, Ongole, Singarayakonda, Tadepalligudem, Tenali and Tuni station will be developed at a cost of Rs. 270 Crore approx. and 9 more stations are being planned under Phase II. DRM said that under the ABSS the identified stations will be developed into world class standard stations by inculcating local art, heritage and icons in the design of façade building of the station. DRM shared that improvements to circulating area, modular toilets, additional cover over platforms, provision of FOB’s, Lifts, Escalators and Waiting halls would be undertaken at these 11 stations. DRM thanked the public for their over-whelming response to Vijayawada Division’s appeal for feedback & suggestions. DRM stressed that station development is a continuous process and Railways shall strive to give the best amenities, ambience and standards to its esteemed customers. On this occasion, Shri Narendra A. Patil, DRM appealed to the media friends to spread the message of Indian Railways to the denizens of the country and make the event to be held on 06th August, 2023 a grand success

After the briefing, DRM, ADRMs and Branch Officers answered the questions from Media journalist. As part of media interaction, DRM also addressed the media fraternity at these 11 stations through video conference. DRM conveyed his heart felt greetings to Media friends for the support rendered and concluded the Press Conference.
