Shri Narendra A Patil, DRM inspects Gudur-Manubolu Section of Vijayawada Division

Reviews the Preparedness and Safety in view of Proposed Non-Interlocking works

Shri Narendra A Patil, Divisional Railway Manager, Vijayawada Division, South Central Railway conducted extensive inspection of Gudur–Manubolu section in view of proposed Non-Interlocking (NI) works from 11th to 15th August, 2023. DRM along with Branch officers reviewed the preparedness and safety measures undertaken by the Division to facilitate NI Works.

Shri Narendra A. Patil commenced his inspection from Gudur Railway Station yard. He inspected points, crossings, curves & goomties (temporary small huts) erected for undertaking NI works. The DRM inspected the Route Relay Interlocking (RRI) cabin at Gudur reviewed the safety measures and took stock of availability of essential safety equipment’s. DRM laid special emphasis on speed restrictions imposed, signal aspects and strict adherence to safety protocol for the proposed NI works.

DRM and Branch Officers conducted trolley inspection on the new 2.2 Km Rail over Rail (ROR) constructed as part of Gudur- Manubolu third line works. DRM inspected the track parameters gradient during the ROR inspection by Trolley. After thorough inspection of ROR, DRM inspected LC gate no 102 at Manubolu. DRM inspected the LC Cabin and availability of all essential safety gear, availability of warning boards and other essential infrastructure. Shri Narendra A. Patil instructed the Branch Officers to carefully monitor the progress of scheduled NI works by duly taking all the safety precautions. Once the third line between Gudur- Manubolu is commissioned, it shall result in swift and effective operations of Freight & Passenger trains in both (up & down) directions, he added. 

Later, DRM along with Branch officers conducted rear window inspection from Gudur & Vijayawada by Train no. 17480. As part of rear window inspection DRM inspected the signal aspects, OHE wires, Bridges in Gudur – Vijayawada section.
