Mega Health Camp & Family Counselling Session organized for Loco Running Staff at ETTC, Vijayawada

 South Central Railway, Vijayawada Division organized Mega Health Camp & Family Counselling Session organized for Loco Running Staff and their spouses at Electric Traction Training Centre, Satyanarayanapuram, Vijayawada today i.e., 27th November, 2023. Shri Narendra A, Patil, Divisional Railway Manager, Vijayawada Division inaugurated the Medical Health Camp today at ETTC today. Around 188 Loco Pilots, Asst. Loco Pilots along with their family members took part in this Health camp.

At the outset, Shri Srinivasa Rao Konda, Sr DEE, Operations, Vijayawada Division welcomed Shri Narendra A, Patil, DRM, Dr. D. Sitharam, Additional Chief Medical Superintendent (ACMS), Railway Hospital, Vijayawada. Shri Srinivasa Rao Konda profusely thanked Shri Narendra A, Patil, DRM for putting forward this novel initiative of organizing Health Camp for the welfare of Running Staff. He said that this camp is simultaneously being organized for Running Staff at 5 locations viz; Vijayawada, Nellore, Rajahmundry, Bitragunta & Kakinada Port Depots till 02nd December, 2023. Daily around 450 loco Running Staff shall be undergoing various health tests.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Narendra A, Patil, DRM said that Health of Loco Running Staff is of utmost importance for safe train operations. DRM underscored the reason for holding Family Counselling Sessions is that Healthy family shall greatly contribute to Loco Pilot to work without any distraction and stress while on Duty. DRM stated that Loco Pilots are the real foot soldiers of Indian Railways and their Health & Safety is of paramount significance to keep the wheels running continuously. DRM stressed on the Safety aspects in Train Operations and suggested them o come to duty with clean, calm & open mind and be very attentive & receptive while on duty as they carry the burden of transporting millions of Passengers safely to their destinations.

 Dr. D. Sitharam, ACMS briefed the gathering basic steps for leading a healthy lifestyle by performing meditation, Yoga and daily routine exercises. Dr. D. Sitharam appealed to the  Loco Running Staff to utilize the services of Railway Hospital for basic routine & regular check-ups. He advised the staff to compulsory monitor vital parameters like B.P, Sugar & Cholestrol periodically and assured them that their medical team  shall be readily available during any case of medical emergencies.

As part of this Mega Health Camp, Liver Function Tests, Kidney function tests, Cholestrol Complete blood count, Sugar levels, ECG, Cardilogical Diagnostic Tests, General Medicine & Gynaecology consultations were arranged for the Staff. Running Staff noticed with abnormal reports will be sent for further evaluation and screening. Dr. Haritha, Cardilogist, Ramesh Hospital, Dr, Sri Dhatri, DMO actively supervised the Mega Health Camp proceedings. Also Personnel Branch Officers & Team of Welfare inspectors were roped in for resolving staff grievances pertaining to Loco Running Staff.

Shri Srinivasa Rao Konda, Sr DEE, Operations, thanked Dr. M. SowriBala, CMS, Railway Hospital for mobilizing the entire Health Team of Vijayawada Division at all the 5 locations in such a short notice.
