Vijayawada Division celebrates 74th Indian Constitution Day
South Central Railway, Vijayawada Division celebrated the National Constitution Day all over the Division today i.e., 27th November, 2023. At Divisional Office, Vijayawada, Shri Narendra A. Patil, Divisional Railway Manager, Vijayawada Division readout the Preamble of the Constitution along with Shri D. Srinivasa Rao, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Infrastructure and Shri M. Srikanth, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Operations in front of a large gathering of Branch Officers & Staff.

& Staff solemnly took resolve to constitute India in to a Sovereign
Socialist Secular Democratic Republic and to secure to all its Citizens. Also collectively strive for Justice, Social,
Economic and Political; Liberty of thought, expression, belief, faith, and
worship; Equality of status and of opportunity; and to promote among them all.
Constitution Day (Samvidhan Divas) is
celebrated in India on 26 November every year to commemorate the
adoption of the Constitution of India by the Constituent Assembly of India
on that day in 1949. The Constitution came into effect on 26 January 1950. The
Government of India declared 26 November as Constitution Day in 2015, in tune
with the 125th birth anniversary of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, the
architect of Indian Constitution. As 26th November being a holiday
this year, National Constitution Day is observed across the Division today i.e.,
27th November, 2023
As part of the celebration of Constitution Day,
Staff and Officers at Stations, Workshops and Depots of the Division read out
the preamble today. Many of staff also virtually participated in the Read
Preamble and Quiz on Indian Constitution contest through MyGov.in portal.
Display of banners and posters on Constitution have been displayed at Railway
stations/trains to bring awareness on the Constitution Day amongst the
passengers.
