Three Employees of Vijayawada Division receive GM SCR’s ‘Man of the Month’ Safety Awards for November-2023
Shri Arun Kumar
Jain, General Manager, South Central Railway presented the General Manager’s
‘Man of the Month’ Safety Awards to three employees of Vijayawada Division for
showing alertness in duty and taking timely action to prevent unsafe conditions
today i.e., 18th December 2023 at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad. Shri Narendra A
Patil, Divisional Railway Manager, Vijayawada Division attended the virtual
safety meeting along with Principal Heads of Departments from Rail Nilayam,
Secunderabad, and Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all the other five
Divisions viz., Guntakal, Guntur, Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Nanded Divisions
from their respective offices.
The General Manager
reviewed the safety preparedness of the Zone. He instructed the officials to
conduct regular safety drives, and night inspections in the sections to notice
the deficiencies in the system and to ensure alertness and avoid untoward
incidents. Shri Narendra A Patil, DRM congratulated the staff for their
alertness and prompt action on Duty.
Three Employees of
Vijayawada Division bagged the ‘Man of the Month’ Safety Awards for November
2023:
1.
Shri J Bheemayya, Senior Goods Train Manager, Rajahmundry of
Operating Department while performing his duties noticed an unusual sound from
a Goods train passing Gunadala Station at 08:45 am on 13.11.2023. He
immediately informed the Station Superintendent of Mustabada Station. The train
was stopped at Mustabada due to the breakage of the ‘S’ Link. As per the
instructions of Train Examiner Control, Vijayawada, the brake van was detached.
He is presented with this award because he prevented unsafe conditions for
train movement and unnecessary delays in train services.
2.
Shri P Sanath Kumar, Trolley Man, Vijayawada Station
of Engineering Department received the award for noticing a Tongue Rail Crack
at the Switch Expansion Joint at Km. 253/23-21 in Ongole Section at 11:00 am on
21.11.2023. Thus, the alertness and keen observation of the Trolley Man and
prompt reporting of the serious abnormality prevented the breakage of the
Tongue Rail at the Switch Expansion Joint and averted a possible disaster and
disruption in train services.
3. Shri R Kranthi
Kumar, Track Maintainer-III, P-WAY, Gudivada Section
of Engineering Department while performing his duties at LC No.46 between
Indupalli and Gudivada Stations noticed a Rail Crack at Km.39/30-32 at 07:20 am
on Down Line on 10.11.2023. He immediately protected the track and informed the
concerned authorities. He is presented with this award for his alertness and
prevention of unsafe conditions for train movement and for avoiding unnecessary
delays in train services.
