Shri G. Kishan Reddy, Hon’ble Union Minister Flags off Extension of Amaravati Express up to Narasapur

  







Shri G. Kishan Reddy, Hon’ble Union Minister of Culture and Tourism, Development of North East Region flagged off extension of three train services in Andhra Pradesh region today i.e., 12th January, 2024 from a function held at Guntur Railway station. Shri K. Manohar Naidu, Hon’ble Mayor, Muncipal Corporation, Guntur graced the occasion. Shri M. Ramakrishnan, Divisional Railway Manager, Guntur and other Railway officials were present. The extended train services are – Train No. 22701/22702 Visakhapatnam – Guntur – Visakhapatnam Uday Express; Train No. 17225/17226 Narsapur – Hubballi – Narsapur Amravati Express and Train No. 07284/07285 Nandyal – Renigunta – Nandyal Special train. Simultaneously, functions were also held at Renigunta and Narasapur Railway stations to witness the flagging off program in the presence of Dignitaries and respective Divisional Railway officials.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri G. Kishan Reddy stated that the extension of three train services inaugurated today will be beneficial for the people of Andhra Pradesh. He said that the extension of Uday Express provides convenient direct connectivity between Guntur – Visakhapatnam. He stated that these trains consists of both AC & Non-AC coaches and has been provided with convenient journey timings. Further, he stated that the Narsapur-Hubballi Express will provide additional traveling facility from coastal Andhra Pradesh to Karnataka region. He said that the Nandyal – Renigunta special train will faciliate pilgrim passengers to reach Lord Venkateshwara Temple at Tirumala. The train has been provided stoppages at all stations in Rayalaseema region, he said.

Further, the Hon’ble Union Minister stated that in the last few years the Railway network has been increasing at a fast pace across the Nation. He said that under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister, Railways has etablished dedicated freight corridiors and is working towards achieveing 100% electrification. The electrification works in Andhra Pradesh are almost completed, he said. Further, he stated that 32 Railway line projects with a total of around 5074 tracks Kms are under progress in Andhra Pradesh State. Speaking on Vande Bharat trains, he said that Andhra Pradesh has been provided with Semi-High speed indigenous Vande Bharat trains with connectivity between Hyderabad - Vijayawada – Visakhapatnam; Hyderabad - Vijayawada – Tirupati; and Vijayawada – Chennai.

At Narasapur Railway Station, Shri Mudunuri Naga Raja Vara Prasada Raju, Government chief Whip in A. P, Legislative Assembly; Shri  Kavuru Srinivas, Member of Legislative Council; Smt. Barri Venkata Ramana, Municipal Chairperson, Narasapur; Shri Jakkampudi  Kumar, DRUCC Member and Shri Narni Tataji, District BJP President attended the function. The dignatries thanked Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister and Railway Officials for the extension of the Amaravati Express up to Narasapur. Shri D. Srinivasa Rao, Additional Railway Manager; Shri Rambabu Vavilapalli, Sr Divisional Commercial Manager; Shri K Sridhar, Divisional Engineer (East) of Vijayawada Dvision, South Central Railway also attended the programme.
