Two Days Mega Ticket Checking Drive over Division fetches Rs. 26.27 lakhs earnings

 

Total 3916 cases of irregular travel were registered by Ticket Checking Staff

Mega Fortress Check Organized at Vijayawada Railway Station

South Central Railway, Vijayawada Division organized two days Mega Ticket Checking Drive across the length of Vijayawada Division on 29th & 30th January, 2024. The Mega Drive was held under the supervision of Shri Vavilapalli. Rambabu, Sr. Divisional Commercial Manager, Vijayawada Division with around 135 Ticket Checking Staff of Vijayawada Division actively taking part across the Division. Also as part of this Mega Ticket Checking Drive, a Mega Fortress Check was conducted at Vijayawada Railway Station yesterday.

 During the entire check including the Mega Fortress check at Vijayawada, whopping 26.27 Lakh penalty was realized in two days by registering 3916 Cases against Irregular travel in the Division. Total 98 trains were checked by forming teams in all the sections of Vijayawada Division. Squad TTE’s, Station Staff and newly recruited Pro Commercial Clerks/ Ticket Collector took part in this Mega Drive. The check was conducted in two time slots of 12hrs in the morning and afternoon by the staff.

 Mega Fortress Check at Vijayawada Railway Station

 As part of this Mega Ticket Checking Drive, a Mega Fortress Check was organized at Vijayawada Railway Station yesterday. During the Fortress Check all the entry/ exit points were thoroughly manned and passengers are regulated through these gates only. The loose end entry/ exit points identified during the drive were cordoned to regulate the flow of passengers. The passengers were requested to form queue at the counter to purchase journey or PF tickets. Passengers were educated to refrain from trespassing and use FOB’s for safer transit. Also Passengers carrying heavy luggage were directed to luggage office for booking and passengers carrying bulky articles are advised to book it in the Brake Van of Express/ Passenger trains.

 During this entire Mega Ticket Checking Drive, 2076 cases of Ticketless travel, 1801 cases of irregular travel were registered and penalty of Rs. 17.35 Lakh and Rs 8.80 lakh was realized respectively by the Ticket Checking Staff.

 Speaking on the occasion,  Shri Vavilapalli. Rambabu, Sr. DCM, stated that the objective of the ticket checking drive is to curb ticketless, irregular travel and un-booked luggage and to create a moral fear among habitual offenders. The drive was not only to plug leakage of revenue but also to ensure comfortable and safe journey of bonafide rail passengers. Sr.DCM appealed to the passengers to download the UTS on Mobile App for promoting paperless and cashless transactions. 

 Shri Narendra A. Patil, Divisional Railway Manager, Vijayawada Division complimented the Ticket Checking Staff for successfully organizing the Mega Ticket Checking Drive and recording highest ever penalty in as single Day.
