Train no. 12711/ 12712 Pinakini Express upgraded to LHB Composition w.e.f. 22nd June, 2025

 

The Popular Inter City Daily Train No.12713/12714 Pinakini Express running between Vijayawada and Chennai Central shall now run with modern Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) coaches, replacing the existing ICF coaches with effect from 22nd June, 2025. This significant upgrade is aimed at providing passengers with a safer and more comfortable travel experience.

  • Increased Speed & Stability: LHB coaches facilitate higher speeds with better stability, leading to a smoother and more pleasant ride.
  • Better Ventilation & Aesthetics: Modern interiors, improved ventilation, and noise reduction features offer a premium travel experience.
  • Enhanced Safety: LHB coaches are designed with advanced safety features, including anti-climbing technology and improved crashworthiness, reducing the risk of derailments and ensuring passenger protection.
  • Safe Cooking: Hot buffet car is fully air-conditioned and installed with induction flame cooking and provided with Automatic Fire Detection and Suppression system.
  • Higher Speed Potential: These coaches can operate safely at speeds of up to 160-200 km/h, compared to conventional ICF coaches that max out at around 110 km/h
  • Energy Efficiency: LHB coaches are lighter than ICF coaches, which improves fuel efficiency and reduces operational costs.

On this occasion, Shri Narendra A Patil, Divisional Railway Manager, Vijayawada Division, South Central Railway said, “With the introduction of the LHB coaches, passengers on the Pinakini Express can now experience a safer, smoother, and more enjoyable journey. The initiative aligns with Indian Railways’ commitment to modernizing its infrastructure and rolling stock, further enhancing the travel experience for millions of passengers. “We are continuing to prioritize passenger safety, convenience, and efficiency through technological advancements and service upgrades”, he added.
