Three Employees of Vijayawada Division receive SCR General Manager’s ‘Employee of the Month’ Safety Awards for March-2025
Shri Arun Kumar Jain,
General Manager, South Central Railway presented the General Manager’s
‘Employee of the Month’ Safety Awards for March 2025 to three employees of
Vijayawada Division for showing alertness in duty and taking timely action to
prevent unsafe conditions today i.e., 21st April, 2025 at Rail
Nilayam, Secunderabad. Shri Narendra A Patil, Divisional Railway Manager,
Vijayawada Division attended the virtual safety meeting along with Principal
Heads of Departments from Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad, and Divisional Railway
Managers of all the other five Divisions viz., Guntakal, Guntur, Secunderabad,
Hyderabad, Nanded Divisions from their respective offices.
The General Manager
reviewed the safety preparedness of the Zone. He instructed the officials to
conduct regular safety drives, and night inspections in the sections to notice
the deficiencies in the system and to ensure alertness and avoid untoward
incidents. Shri Narendra A Patil, DRM Vijayawada congratulated the staff for
their alertness and prompt action on duty.
Three Employees of Vijayawada Division bagged the ‘Employees of the
Month’ Safety Awards for March-2025:
1. Shri T V M U Maheswar, Station Superintendent, Denduluru of Operating Department, for noticing flames beneath the B-2 Coach
of Train No.11019 Konark Express while train passing the section. The Express
train was immediately halted by exchanging Danger & Hand signals. The train
was attended immediately by staff and the defect was rectified averting a
mishap.

Shri K Nathaniel, Pointsman, Rajahmundry
of Operating Department for noticing flames
underneath wagon of a loaded goods train stationed at Rajahmundry.
. He immediately informed the Station Master
on duty and put off the fire with the fire extinguisher available in the
station. Later the bogie was detached at Rajahmundry. This ensured safety.
3. Shri Lokesh Kumar, Train Manager, Rajahmundry of Operating Department for noticing smoke on the wagon of passing Goods Train at Denduluru. He immediately alerted the Loco Pilot and asked him to stop the train. On examination, the wagon had Hot Axle symptoms. The train was made to clear the section at minimal speed and the above wagon was detached hence avoiding an untoward incident.
