Shri Mohit Sonakiya, DRM, Vijayawada Division, SCR inspects Gudur–Vijayawada Section;

 

 Reviews Nellore Station Redevelopment and Amrit Bharat Station Works

Shri Mohit Sonakiya, Divisional Railway Manager, Vijayawada Division, undertook an extensive inspection of the Gudur–Vijayawada section on 20th August 2025 covering Gudur, Nellore, Bitragunta, Singarayakonda, and Ongole stations.

At Gudur station, Shri Sonakiya inspected the platforms and circulating areas, with a special emphasis on passenger amenities and safety measures. He reviewed the ongoing works and called for strict adherence to timelines to ensure improved convenience for rail users.

The focus of the inspection was at Nellore station, where major redevelopment works are progressing rapidly. Shri Mohit Sonakiya, DRM reviewed the construction of new station buildings, platforms, the panel and relay room, and stressed the importance of early completion. “Nellore is poised to emerge as a modern gateway for passengers in the region. Timely completion of works here will set a benchmark for station redevelopment across the Division,” he stated.

At Bitragunta, Shri Mohit Sonakiya, DRM interacted with staff at the Crew Lobby and Running Room, underlining the importance of rest facilities and operational efficiency. During the interaction, he reiterated the Railway’s uncompromising focus on safety. “Safety is our foremost priority. Every staff member, whether on train or ground duty, contributes directly to passenger trust and operational reliability,” he noted.

Moving to Singarayakonda, the DRM inspected the circulating area and newly developed waiting hall under Amrit Bharat Station works. He appreciated the progress achieved so far and encouraged early commissioning of the facilities for public use.

At Ongole station, Shri Sonakiya inspected the station premises, passenger amenities, and operational facilities, appreciating the efforts of the staff in maintaining cleanliness and efficiency.

Summarizing the visit, Shri Sonakiya remarked, “The Gudur–Vijayawada section is one of the most vital links of our Division. With ongoing Amrit Bharat Station works, early redevelopment at Nellore, and strengthened safety practices across stations, we are committed to providing passengers with world-class facilities and safe journeys.”
