Ms. Ity Pandey , PCCM, SCR inspects Tuni, Nidadavolu and Kakinada Stations; Holds a meet with Port Authorities






Ms.Ity Pandey, Principal Chief Commercial Manager (PCCM), South Central Railway comprehensively inspected Kakinada Town, Tuni and Nidadavolu Railway Stations. She also held a meet with Kakinada Seaport Pvt. Ltd. (KSPL) authorities today i.e. 10th September, 2025.Shri B. Prasantha Kumar Sr. DCM, Vijayawada Division and the team of Commercial Inspectors accompanied Ms.Ity Pandey, PCCM throughout the inspection.

The inspection primarily focused on reviewing the progress of infrastructure development under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS), which envisions transforming railway stations into modern, world-class transit hubs. At Kakinada Town, Tuni and Nidadavolu stations, Ms. Pandey inspected the circulating areas, platforms, waiting halls, toilets and catering stalls. She issued directives to expedite the completion of pending works and suggested modifications to enhance passenger movement and amenities.

During her visit, Ms. Pandey interacted with maintenance staff and reviewed safety compliance in coach servicing activities. She emphasized the pivotal role of backend teams in ensuring seamless train operations and passenger safety. “Our staff shall have safe working environments, proper rest, and adequate facilities, this is not just a responsibility—but a necessity for operational excellence,” she remarked.

Later, at Kakinada Port Station, Ms. Pandey evaluated freight handling operations, including the yard layout, shunting patterns, and wagon flow in coordination with Kakinada Seaport Pvt. Ltd. (KSPL). She underscored the importance of integrated operations between the station and private terminals, stating, “Kakinada Port is a critical freight node on our network. Seamless coordination between the station, KSPL sidings and terminal operators is key to faster wagon turnaround and higher throughput.”

Special emphasis was laid on adherence to safety norms, maintenance protocols, and real-time coordination between departmental staff and private stakeholders. Ms. Pandey encouraged staff to remain vigilant, adopt technology-driven practices and report safety observations proactively.Appreciating the pace of work, she advised divisional officials to accelerate efforts to meet the targeted completion timelines.
