South Central Railway’s Vijayawada Division strengthens ties with Parliamentary Standing Committee on Railways
Shri Mohit Sonakiya, DRM meets Shri C M Ramesh, Chairperson of the
Parliamentary Standing Committee on Railways to discuss infrastructure progress
and future plans
Shri Mohit
Sonakiya, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Vijayawada Division, South Central
Railway, met Shri C M Ramesh, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Anakapalle, and
Chairperson of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Railways, at the
Collectorate Office, Anakapalle, today, i.e. 12th September 2025.
During the
interaction, Shri Mohit Sonakiya, DRM briefed Shri Ramesh on the ongoing and
upcoming infrastructure projects across the Division. These included key works
such as Road over Bridges (RoBs), Road under Bridges (RUBs), and station
redevelopment initiatives aimed at enhancing passenger amenities and
operational efficiency.
The DRM was on an
inspection of the Duvvada–Vijayawada Section, accompanied by Branch Officers.
The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of Railway authorities and public
representatives to accelerate infrastructure development and deliver improved rail
services for the region’s growing needs.
Speaking on the
occasion, Shri Mohit Sonakiya said, “South Central Railway is dedicated to
transforming the rail network into a modern, passenger-friendly system. With
the support of esteemed public representatives like Shri C M Ramesh, we are
confident of fast-tracking critical projects that will significantly enhance
connectivity, safety, and convenience for the people of Andhra Pradesh.”
