Quarterly Rajbhasha Meeting & Concluding Function of Rajbhasha Week Celebrations Held at Vijayawada Division

The Quarterly Rajbhasha Meeting and the concluding function of the Rajbhasha Week Celebrations were held on 26th September 2025 at Divisional Headquarters of Vijayawada Division, South Central Railway, under the chairmanship of Shri Mohit Sonakiya, Divisional Railway Manager.

On this occasion, Shri Sonakiya emphasised the importance of Rajbhasha Hindi as a unifying medium and highlighted its growing role in effective governance. He reviewed the Division’s achievements in Hindi implementation and applauded the dedicated efforts of the Rajbhasha Section officials.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Mohit Sonakiya, DRM, said, “Hindi is not just our Rajbhasha, but also a powerful tool that connects people across regions and cultures. It is our collective responsibility to promote its use in official work, while ensuring efficiency and inclusivity. I deeply appreciate the enthusiastic participation of officers and staff during the Rajbhasha Week celebrations, which reflects the Division’s commitment to strengthening the use of Hindi in day-to-day administration.”

Addressing the gathering, Shri K. Srinivasa Rao, Additional Divisional Railway Manager (Operations) & AMRA, urged all officials to strictly adhere to the rules and guidelines issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Official Language. Shri P.E. Edwin, ADRM (Infrastructure), extended his congratulations to officers, supervisors, and employees on the successful organisation of Hindi Week Celebrations.

As part of the event, the Division launched its quarterly Rajbhasha e-magazine “Vijayrath”, documenting various Rajbhasha initiatives and activities. A short film depicting the Division’s Hindi-related programs was also screened. Additionally, an engaging quiz competition on Hindi was conducted for the participating officers, with on-the-spot prizes awarded to the winners.

During the function, 36 winners of different Hindi competitions organised throughout the Rajbhasha Week were felicitated with merit certificates and prizes by the DRM.

The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks, and was compered by Shri Hemant Wadekar, Senior Rajbhasha Adhikari, Vijayawada. The Rajbhasha Week Celebrations and the Quarterly Meeting were successfully organised owing to the dedicated efforts of the Rajbhasha Department staff of Vijayawada Division.
