Vijayawada Division Organises Blood Donation Camp under “Swast Nari Swashakt Pariwar Abhiyan – SNSP-2025”

A Blood Donation Camp was successfully organised today at the Divisional Railway Hospital, Vijayawada, in association with the Red Cross Blood Bank, Vijayawada, on the occasion of “Swast Nari Swashakt Pariwar Abhiyan – SNSP-2025.”

The camp was held under the guidance of Dr A.V.S.K. Prasad, Chief Medical Superintendent. Dr. M. Jaideep, ACMS (Health & Family Welfare), welcomed the donors and delivered an awareness lecture on the Myths and Facts of Blood Donation, motivating Railway employees to actively participate in this noble cause.

Shri Mohit Sonakiya, Divisional Railway Manager, Vijayawada Division, graced the occasion as Chief Guest. He appreciated the voluntary spirit of the donors and handed over certificates as a token of recognition for their contribution. Speaking on the occasion, he said, “Blood donation is one of the greatest gifts we can give to society. Each unit of blood donated is a lifeline for someone in need. I deeply appreciate the spirit of our employees and their commitment to service beyond duty.”

Shri Shanmuga Vadivel, Sr. Divisional Security Commissioner, Railway Protection Force, also participated in the camp and donated blood, setting an inspiring example on the occasion of RPF Raising Day.

The event was organised in alignment with the 2025 National Voluntary Blood Donation Day theme, “Give Blood, Give Hope: Together We Save Lives.” A total of 30 donors, including Railway employees from various departments such as RPF, ETTS Institute, Assistant Loco Pilots (ALPs), and Loco Pilots (LPs), came forward to donate blood.

Senior officials and staff members, including Dr. L. Ravikant, ACMS/Admin, Ms. Leven Manohari, ANO, Ms. Nursat, PRO, Vijayawada Division; Dr. Madan Mohan, Blood Bank Officer, along with Nursing staff and supervisors, participated in the program in large numbers, ensuring the smooth conduct of the camp.

This initiative highlighted the commitment of Vijayawada Division towards community welfare, healthcare, and the spirit of voluntary service.
