Shri Mohit Sonakiya, DRM, Vijayawada Division, SCR Conducts Comprehensive Inspection of Machilipatnam–Gudivada and Bhimavaram Town–Narasapur Sections

Shri Mohit Sonakiya, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Vijayawada Division, South Central Railway, conducted an extensive inspection of Machilipatnam, Gudivada, Bhimavaram Town, and Narasapur Railway Stations today. He was accompanied by concerned Branch Officers throughout the inspection, ensuring a thorough review of infrastructure, cleanliness, and on-going development works

At Machilipatnam Station, Shri Sonakiya inspected the Level Crossing gate at Ventrapragada and reviewed the advancement of works under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. His visit also included a detailed assessment of the Running Room and Coaching Depot, where he emphasized maintaining high standards of cleanliness and upkeep in alignment with the Swachhta Hi Seva 2025 campaign.

During the inspection at Gudivada Station, the DRM recommended several improvements to enhance passenger amenities. These included upgradation of premium waiting halls, installation of modular toilets, aesthetic enhancements to the station façade, acceleration of Foot Over Bridge (FOB) construction, and better organization of parking facilities for passenger convenience.

At Bhimavaram Town Station, Shri Sonakiya inspected the concourse area and the prepaid AC waiting hall on Platform 1. He reviewed the provision of ramps for Divyangjan passengers, the installation of modular toilets on Platform 2, and the newly constructed 12-meter FOB connecting Platforms 1 and 2, ensuring accessibility and comfort for all passengers.

The inspection at Narasapur Railway Station focused on the progress of works under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. Shri Sonakiya reviewed the construction of the new station building, a 12-meter Foot Over Bridge, and a new AC waiting hall. A separate inspection of the Running Room was conducted to assess its condition and functionality. Following this, a rear window inspection of the Narasapur–Nidadavolu Section was carried out.
