Vijayawada Division Observes Shramdaan under the leadership of DRM Mohit Sonakiya as part of Swachhata Hi Seva – 2025

 

On the clarion call of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, Vijayawada Division, South Central Railway, organised a massive Shramdaan drive today, 25th September 2025. The initiative was led by Shri Mohit Sonakiya, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Vijayawada Division, from Vijayawada Railway Station, along with senior officials and staff.

The programme was observed on the occasion of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Jayanti, and is inspired by Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of cleanliness. Under the banner “Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath”, Shramdaan activities were conducted at Platform No. 1 (South), under the water tank area of Vijayawada Railway Station.

Calling for a large-scale cleanliness drive, Shri Mohit Sonakiya urged all stations, colonies, depots, and offices in Vijayawada Division to actively participate in Shramdaan. He stressed that collective efforts can create a long-lasting impact and further strengthen the ideals of the Swachh Bharat Mission.

Speaking on the occasion, DRM Shri Mohit Sonakiya said, _“Cleanliness is not just a duty, it’s a shared responsibility. Today’s Shramdaan reflects our commitment to building a cleaner and greener future.”_

The campaign witnessed enthusiastic participation by staff and officers across the Division, symbolising unity and commitment to the cause of cleanliness. The initiative strongly reinforced the message: _“Together for a Cleaner Railway.”_
