RPF Vijayawada Division Excels in Crime Detection, Passenger Safety & Rescue Operations

The Railway Protection Force (RPF), Vijayawada Division, South Central Railway, continues to uphold its commitment to passenger safety, crime prevention, and public service through several commendable operations and good work conducted between 16th and 23rd October 2025.

 

1. Operation Satark – Recovery of Foreign Brand Cigarettes

On 21.10.2025, acting on credible information, RPF Vijayawada, along with CPSR and Customs officials, intercepted a suspicious parcel (PRR No. 2024222376) booked from Dimapur to Vijayawada as “Food Product – Micro Coffee”. Upon examination, officials recovered 48,000 foreign brand cigarettes (ESSE Lights, KT&G Korea) worth approximately ₹4.8 lakh. Customs authorities confirmed the goods as contraband and seized them under the Customs Act, 1962.

 

2. Operation Yatri Suraksha – Chain Snatching Case Detected at Kakinada

Following a chain-snatching incident on 12.10.2025 at Kakinada station, RPF and GRP teams, despite lack of CCTV evidence, successfully apprehended Galeri Dora Babu (37 yrs) on 21.10.2025. The stolen gold chain (8 gms, ₹16,000/-) was recovered and linked to Cr. No. 84/2025 U/s 304(2) BNS.

 

3. Operation Yatri Suraksha – OG Kuppam Gang Apprehended

A joint operation by RPF, GRP, and CIB teams led to the arrest of four members of the OG Kuppam attention diversion gang from Chittoor District on 18.10.2025 at Tenali. The team recovered 50 gms of gold ornaments and 8 stolen mobile phones worth a total of ₹6.6 lakh. The case was registered under Cr. No. 334/2025 U/s 303(2) BNS, RPS Vijayawada.

 

4. Operation Yatri Suraksha – Swift Detection of Chain Snatching Case (Vijayawada)

On 16.10.2025, passenger G.S.N. Lakshmi Mounika reported a chain-snatching incident (11 gms, ₹1.10 lakh) on Train No. 17209. Through meticulous CCTV analysis, RPF–GRP–CIB teams apprehended Ravuri Nagaraju (25 yrs) of Mylavaram within 12 hours, recovering the stolen property. Case linked to Cr. No. 335/2025 U/s 304(2) BNS.

 

5. Two Mobile Theft Cases Solved – RPF & GRP (Kavali)

On 18.10.2025, two mobile thefts reported on Trains No. 07229 & 16094 (worth ₹35,000/-) were swiftly detected. Joint teams arrested Achhi Durga Rao (46 yrs) of Palnadu District at Kavali station and recovered both mobiles. Cases were linked to Cr. Nos. 76/2025 & 77/2025 U/s 303(2) BNS, GRPS Kavali.

6. Operation Nanhe Farishtey – Rescue of Minor Boy (Tuni)

On 22.10.2025, Constable Smt. P. Venkatamma (Con-4735) rescued a 9-year-old boy, Lavadiya Adil Nayak, found wandering alone at Tuni station. Enquiry revealed a missing case registered under Cr. No. 748/2025, Malkajgiri PS. The child was safely handed over to Child Helpline (1098) under acknowledgment.

 

7. Operation Yatri Suraksha – Apprehension of Robbery Offender (Gudivada)

On 23.10.2025, a joint RPF–GRP team at Gudivada apprehended Goriparthi Siva Koteswara Rao (37 yrs), wanted in Cr. No. 09/2023 U/s 392 IPC for a robbery case on Train No. 07096. The accused was produced before the Hon’ble Court for judicial remand.

 

8. Operation Nanhe Farishtey – Rescue of Minor Boy (Bapatla)

On 21.10.2025, Constable K. Venkatesh (Con-1184), during station rounds at Bapatla, found a 16-year-old boy, Ampili Gopichand, moving suspiciously on Platform No.3. Upon enquiry, he revealed he had left home after being reprimanded. The boy was safely handed over to Sri Kishore, Coordinator, DCPU, Bapatla District, under acknowledgment.

 

9. Prompt Recovery of Leftover Bag Containing Gold Ornaments Worth ₹20 Lakh (Nellore)

On 24.10.2025, RPF Nellore swiftly acted on a complaint from Smt. Monica Evebrigitta, who had forgotten her trolley bag containing gold ornaments (~200 gms worth ₹20 lakh) in Train No. 12664 (HA-1 Coach). ASI P. Ramesh and Constable P.V. Diwakar Reddy promptly attended the train upon arrival and recovered the bag in the presence of the on-duty TTE. The bag, containing gold chains, bangles, rings, bracelets, a diamond necklace, and silver bangles, was verified and handed over to the complainant’s relative Sri V. Sita Ramanjuneyulu under proper acknowledgment. The complainant expressed heartfelt gratitude to the RPF for their swift and sincere action.
