Two New Lifts Commissioned for the Public at Nidadavolu Railway Station

 

Vijayawada Division of South Central Railway has commissioned two new lifts at Nidadavolu Railway Station for public use, further enhancing passenger convenience and accessibility. The two lifts were installed for Rs. 81.18 Lakh.

Nidadavolu Station, one of the important stations in the Division, caters to nearly 5000 passengers daily, with 56 daily and 6 non-daily train services halting here. The newly commissioned lifts will provide easy movement, especially benefiting senior citizens, Divyangjan rail passengers, and those carrying luggage.

With these two lifts, the Division has commissioned ten lifts in the current financial year. As of now, Vijayawada Division has a total of 61 lifts at 23 stations and 22 escalators at 7 stations, reflecting the Division’s continued commitment to providing improved passenger amenities and seamless station access.

Senior railway officials inspected the new facilities and appreciated the efforts of the Engineering and Electrical Departments for completing the work in a time-bound manner.
