Vijayawada Division Observes ‘Swachh Spardha Diwas’ under Swachhta Pakhwada–2025, Promoting Cleanliness and Public Awareness Across Stations

 

As part of the Swachhta Pakhwada-2025, Indian Railways is conducting a Special Cleanliness Campaign 5.0 from 1st to 15th October 2025. Under this initiative, “Swachh Spardha Diwas” (Clean Competition Day) was observed on 13th October 2025 across various stations of the Vijayawada Division, South Central Railway, under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager, Shri Mohit Sonakiya.

On this occasion, various competitions were organised at different stations, witnessing enthusiastic participation from cleaning staff, railway employees, contract workers, and supervisors. The events aimed to encourage a sense of healthy competition and collective responsibility towards maintaining cleanliness in railway premises.

To promote public awareness on cleanliness, messages highlighting the harmful effects of littering are being disseminated among passengers and the general public through public announcement systems at stations and railway colonies.

The campaign continues to strengthen the vision of a clean, hygienic, and passenger-friendly railway environment, aligning with Indian Railways’ commitment to Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
