On-duty Pointsman saves Lady Passenger’s Life

On 31st January, 2019 a lady passenger aged around 50 yrs travelling to Katpadi in train no 12863 Howrah – Yeswanthpur Superfast express got down from S-7 coach on platform No.3 at Eluru Railway station for purchasing a water bottle. As the signal of the train was given on schedule and train started moving, the lady passenger fell down from the platform trying to board the moving train.

On duty Mr. Sudhakar, Pointsman, who was on the spot immediately cautioned the Loco-Pilot and stopped the train. Mr. Sudhakar with the help of other passengers rescued the lady passenger by dragging her on to the platform. The lady passenger escaped major accident with minor bruises and resumed her journey in the same train.

Timely and spontaneous action by Mr. Sudhakar saved the lady passenger’s life and his gesture was appreciated by fellow staff and passengers.
