64th Railway Week Celebrations on Vijayawada Division

South Central Railway – Vijayawada Division celebrated 64th Railway Week Divisional Function at Railway Auditorium, Vijayawada on 12th April, 2019. Shri R. Dhananjayulu, Divisional Railway Manager graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri R. Dhananjayulu, DRM said that the division has performed exceptionally well on the safety front without any major incidents and casualties during the past financial year. DRM also said the Division has breached Rs.5,000 Cr for the first time achieving Rs. 5,137 Crore and achieved the highest incremental loading of 9.3 MT among all the divisions over Indian Railways. DRM lauded the efforts of Engineering & Signal Dept staff on successful completion of long delayed infrastructure projects like, Automatic Block Signal working between VNEC & Mustabad, Coaching fitness for bulb lines between Bulb Cabin & VNEC enabling bypassing of Vijayawada junction and Gudur Non-Interlocking works. DRM praised Finance & Personnel Dept Officers & staff for rendering exemplary services to the pensioners, timely redressal of grievances and clearing all the cases without any dues during his tenure. DRM applauded the RPF staff for retrieving 429 left over articles and rescuing 242 runaway children.

Earlier, DRM congratulated all the branch officers for achieving Eleven GM Shields in various categories and bagging the most coveted “GM Efficiency Shield” for overall performance combined with Secunderabad division for the year 2018-19. DRM advised all the field staff to work in a coordinated & constructive manner to ensure safety of passengers by according top priority to safety & punctuality of trains.
