Bus raid conducted at Tenali and Ongole sections

Vijayawada Division's Commercial Department conducted Bus raids at Tenali and Ongole sections on 18th July, 2019 and achieved earnings of Rs. 3,61,475 by registering 787 cases.

Shri K. Kamalakara Babu Assistant Commercial Manager, Vijayawada with a team Squad TTE’s and RPF police conducted the bus raid starting from Chirala Railway station, covering Appikatla, Tenali and Ongole stations during the check. Gents passengers found travelling in the ladies compartment and several unauthorised passengers travelling in the Divyangjan coaches were evicted from the coaches during the check. 583 cases of Irregular travel were identified and a penalty of Rs.3,05,705 was raised in the check.   

Totally 21 trains, including 2 special trains and 5 passenger trains were checked with a staff of 35 Squad TTEs and 8 RPF personnel under the supervision of Shri K. Kamalakara Babu. His exemplary performance was widely appreciated by Commercial officers in the Zone.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri K. Rajendra Prasad, Divisional Commercial Manager/ In-charge PRO said that  several squads were nominated in the past also to check the menace of gents and unauthorised passengers travelling in the compartment earmarked for ladies and Divyangjan coaches in the section and the main objective of ticket checking staff is not only checking the ticketless travellers and imposing penalties but also to educate & guide travelling public and  to help passengers in distress like medical emergencies and other grievances.
