127th Divisional Rail Users Consultative Committee Meeting Held

Vijayawada Division conducted ‘127th Divisional Rail Users Consultative Committee’ (DRUCC) Meeting in conference hall, Divisional Office, at Vijayawada on 28th August, 2019. Shri P. Srinivas, Divisional Railway Manager & Chairman, DRUCC graced the occasion as Chief Guest.

Shri P. Bhaskar Reddy, Sr. Divisional Commercial Manager & Secretary/DRUCC welcomed the Members to 127th DRUCC Meeting. Addressing the Members, Shri P. Bhaskar Reddy said that the divisional performance was above par in terms of Coaching and Goods Earnings, crossed Rs.5000 Crore for the first time in 2018-19 and gradually improved in Punctuality. He also said that various amenities like Platforms, Drinking water, Divyangjan Toilets were constructed at all Stations over the division. Sr.DCM said that the doubling between Moturu and Akividu Railway stations in Gudivada-Bhimavaram Town Section has completed and was opened to traffic and remaining stretch of doubling in the section will be completed soon.

Addressing the meeting, Shri P. Srinivas, Divisional Railway Manager, said that 460 special trains were operated, 3550 additional coaches were attached to regular train services during the current financial year and the grievances of the passengers through various social platforms are quickly addressed with the help of nodal control centre. DRM also briefed the members about the achievements of Vijayawada Railway Division during the previous financial year, improvement in punctuality of trains and ongoing major railway projects in the Division. Shri P. Srinivas, DRM also said that construction of Platform 4&5 at Gudur Railway station is completed along with new FOB and will be inaugurated by Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu, Hon’ble Vice President of India on 1st September, 2019. He also said that two new trains, Gudur-Vijayawada-Gudur Intercity Superfast Express and Visakhapatnam-Vijayawada-Visakhapatnam Uday Double Decker Express will be introduced in September, 2019 which would cater the daily commuters along with the working class in both south and north sections of Vijayawada Division. 

Addressing the meeting, Shri M.V.S. Ramaraju, Addl. Divisional Railway Manager (Infrastructure) said that Indian Railways has launched “UTS Mobile App” for the convenience of general passengers to book Season, Platform and unreserved journey tickets without standing in ‘Q’ and also passengers can avail 5% additional bonus on every recharge on R-Wallet.

DRUCC Members welcomed Shri P. Srinivas, Chairman/DRUCC & DRM and expressed their delight on the divisional performance and on the special interest shown by the Divisional Officers in meeting the demands from passengers over the division. They also discussed on various developmental activities and current projects in their sections. DRM assured all the members that all their grievances will be taken care and welcomed their valuable suggestions.
