Hon’ble Justice B. Seshasayana Reddy inspects Vijayawada Station

Hon’ble Justice Sri B. Seshasayana Reddy, Chairperson, State Level Committee, conducted inspection at Vijayawada Railway Station on 26th September, 2019. Smt. G. Sumana, ADRM received the Hon’ble Justice and briefed about the activities implemented through Mechanised Cleaning Contracts of Station & Trains at Vijayawada Railway station. The Machinery & eco-friendly consumables used for maintaining the cleanliness of the station were displayed and a demonstration of ‘Pet Plastic Bottle Crusher’ was shown. 

Speaking on the occasion, Hon’ble Justice Sri B. Seshasayana Reddy briefed on implementation of Solid Waste Management Rules. Later, Hon’ble Justice inspected cleanliness in ‘Cell Kitchen’ and suggested some system improvements in segregation of wet & dry waste generated in the kitchen. Later, Hon’ble Justice visited ‘Solid Waste Processing Facility’ at Vijayawada Railway station. Smt. G. Sumana, Addl. Divisional Railway Manager (Operations) briefed about the Segregation and handing over of ‘Wet’ & ‘Dry’ waste separately through dumper bins provided by Vijayawada Municipal Corporation at Vijayawada Railway station. Shri. Iqbal Hussain, Health Officer, VMC briefed about the segregation of ‘Wet’ & ‘Dry’ garbage at the main dump yard and disposal of ‘Wet’ garbage through Compost Plant.

Sri Rama Murthy, SEE; Shri. T. Prasad Rao, AEE and other officials of AP Pollution Control Board were present.
