Four Employees of Vijayawada Division bag Safety Awards

Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, South Central Railway presented “Man of the Month” safety awards to 19 employees for showing alertness in the duty and taking timely action to prevent unsafe conditions. He presented the awards during the safety meeting held yesterday i.e., 2nd December, 2019 at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad along with Principle Heads of Departments. Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all the six divisions viz., Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded Divisions participated through video conference. 
The General Manager complimented the divisional officials for maintaining good punctuality and placing SCR on second best position in Indian Railways. He congratulated the awardees for showing alertness in the duty and taking timely action to prevent unsafe conditions. He also appreciated the employees for their dedication and focus towards performing their duties. 
 He advised the officials to further improve the average speed of the passenger trains, optimal utilization of locos to reach the performance target set by the Railway Board. He instructed the officials to explore the possibility of engaging second Keyman for sharing the work and maintain good surveillance of the track and safety to the on-duty staff working on track during foggy season.

The details of the four Employees of Vijayawada Division who bagged the ‘Man of the Month’ Safety Award for the month of September & October-2019 are:

1. Shri. P. Chaitanya, Tech Gr-I/C&W, Bitragunta received the Safety Award for noticing Rail Breakage on Platform no-2 at Bitragunta Railway station.

2. Shri. V. Srinivasulu, SM/ Ulavapadu     received the Safety Award for noticing Hot Axle(Bearing Failure) in a Goods Wagon

3. Shri. Sujit Das, SS/ Gullipadu    received the Safety Award for noticing missing Auxillary reservoir in long haul goods wagon while exchanging “All Right Signals” on duty.

4. Shri. T.V. Ramana Murthy, Guard/ Rajahmundry received the Safety Award for noticing unusual sound from rear SLR and immediately reporting it to Control Office, Vijayawada
