National Science Day observed in Jack and Jill High School, Vijayawada

To commemorate the discovery of the Raman Effect, National Science Day was observed by Jack and Jill High School, English Medium School, Vijayawada. The Vijayawada wing of South Central Railway Women’s Welfare Organization (SCRWWO) conducted Science exhibition, Elocution and Quiz competitions in the School run by them. Smt. Geeta Vani, Vice-President, SCRWWO with Mrs. Kanti Satyanarayana, Mrs. Vidya, Treasurer and Mrs. Anjum judged the various competitions.

Students enthusiastically participated in the competitions. Working Models of Solar power utility, Electronic gadgets like burglar alarm, Robot, Volcano and Green House Effect were on display. Many students remembered and shared the values imparted by great Scientists of our country in English, Hindi and Telugu.

The quiz conducted by Smt. Dorathi and Smt. Vijayalakshmi, Science teachers was well answered by the students. Addul Kalam Team and Bose Team won first and second prizes respectively. Smt Geeta Vani advised the students to develop the habit of Scientific temperament by using creativitiy keeping in the mind the need of the society. Smt. Vidya motivated the children towards public speaking. Smt. Nagalakshmi, In-charge was present. Sri D. R. K. Sarma, Co-ordinator organized the programme.
