Indian Railways has launched the Integrated Train Enquiry System “Rail Madad” 139 helpline number, Web and a mobile App to register complaints and to provide essential information to Rail Passengers.


Security Helpline 182 merged with 

Rail Madad Helpline 139

Indian Railways has taken a decision to merge Railway Security Helpline number 182 in to Rail Madad single Helpline number 139 for convenience of Passengers. This integration of both security helpline numbers in to single helpline number 139 will help the passengers to make all inquiries and lodging grievances also. 

Earlier, Indian Railways has provided the 182 Security helpline toll free number to provide speedy assistance to passengers in the event of thefts, harassment, pick pocketing or other criminal incidents on trains or rail premises. Now it is merged with Rail Madad helpline number 139.

Further to make services more efficient, Indian Railways has launched the Integrated Train Enquiry System “Rail Madad” 139 helpline number, Web and a mobile App to register complaints and to provide essential information to Rail Passengers.  It communicates real time feedback to passengers on the status of redressal of their complaints. Rail Madad is a digital initiative which integrates all the passenger complaints received from multiple modes on a single platform.

Salient features of Rail Madad:

  • Various modes of registration of complaints are available i.e. Rail Madad Helpline Number 139, Rail Madad website and Rail Madad mobile App.
  • Rail Madad registers a complaint with minimum inputs from passenger (option of uploading photos also available)
  • A unique ID is instantly generated and relays the complaint online to concerned field officials for immediate action. 
  • The action taken on complaint is also communicated to passenger through SMS.
  • Web based complaints can be registered through www.railmadad.indianrailways.gov.in
  • Mobile App can be downloaded from Google Play Store or Apple iOS (iPhone) Store for android or iOS users.
  • Rail Madad registers various complaints like Security, Child helpline, Catering, Coach Maintenance, Accidents, Vigilance and General issues for real time and immediate assistance in one easy step.

Indian Railways is fully committed to attend the grievances of passengers with the help of “Rail Madad”. Hereby, Passengers are requested to use Rail Madad helpline number 139.
