Railway Officials warm send off to School Students of Andhra Pradesh visiting Punjab
As a part of Cultural, linguistic exchange programme under the aegis of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav – Ek Bharat- Sresht Bharat” initiative, students representing all the districts of AP are travelling to Punjab by train

expressed their joy and excitement to travel to Punjab by train, which would be
a long lasting memorable experience to cherish
To commemorate 75 years of Indian
Independence, Government of India has launched Azadi –Ka Amrit Mahotsav
initiative to honour the legacy of freedom struggle and the real heroes of
Indian Independence. Ministry of Education launched Azadi –Ka Amrit Mahotsav-
Ek Bharat- Sresht Bharat initiative to support the cause and propagate the rich history of Indian
cultural evolution, coupled with rousing freedom struggle that was built around
the tenets of non-violence and justice.
As a part of this objective, All the
States/UTs in India have been paired for an entire year and school students
visit the paired state to forge the mutual bond. Likewise, Andhra Pradesh is
paired with Punjab as part of Ministry of Education initiative.
Under the aegis of
Samagra Siksha, Department of School Eaducation, Andhra Pradesh 25 students belonging to ZPHS, Kendruya
Vidyalaya Sanghatan, Navodaya Vidyalaaya and Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya and AP model
schools representing 13 districts accomapnnied with teachers boarded Train no. 12806 Janmabhoomi Expresss
to Vizag today i.e., 01st
August, 2022 at Vijayawada Railway Station.
They will be heading to Jalandhar from Vizag through rail journey. Ms

Officer, Vijayawada Division and Shri P.B.N Prasad, Station Director,
Vijayawada flagged off their Journey to
Punjab by train. Students visit Monuments, museums, and participate in
sports, seminars on sociology of food and cultural exchange, lost history,
heroes of freddom struggle during their 5 day visit to Punjab. Students expressed
their joy and excitement to travel to Punjab by train, which would be a
longlasting memorable experience to cherish.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms Nusrat M Mandrupkar, PRO congratulated the students
for getting selected for this noble opportunity to visit Punjab. PRO said that
Railways is always at the forefront to support the noble cause and it’s our
responsibility and duty to honour the freedom struggle. PRO said such
programmes would generate the vibrancy of understanding & appreciation
amongst the people and forge mutual bonding, thus securing an enriched value
system of unity in the nation. Shri
P.B.N Prasad, Station Director, said that India is a unique
nation, whose fabric has been woven by diverse linguistic, cultural and
religious threads, which can be realized only through such cultural exchange
prgrammes right from school levels.

flagging off ceremony and gave a warm send off to the students
