Vijayawada Division celebrates Rashtriya Ekta Diwas

“Run for Unity” event organized to commemorate 147th Birth Anniversary of “Iron Man”Shri Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel

























Commemorating birth anniversary of ‘Iron Man’- Shri Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, South Central Railway, Vijayawada Division celebrated Rashtriya Ekta Diwas across the Division in a befitting manner today i.e., 31st October, 2022.

In the morning ‘Run for Unity’ event was organized by the Division from Railway Mini Stadium, Vijayawada. Shri Shivendra Mohan, Divisional Railway Manager, Vijayawada Division flagged off the Run for Unity event and also took part in the run along with Senior officials of the Division. The run started from Railway Mini Stadium and concluded at Clock Tower, Main Entrance, Vijayawada Station, en-route Caltex road, Old Government hospital and Railway Hospital. More than 250 staff of Division, Railway Police Personnel participated in the run enthusiastically in the morning.

At Vijayawada, Shri Shivendra Mohan, DRM administered Rashtriya Ekta Diwas pledge to Branch officers, Staff at Divisional Office Compound, Vijayawada. The Staff and officers took resolve to preserve the unity integrity, security of the Nation and ensure peace and harmony.

Interacting with Print/ Electronic media, Shri Shivendra Mohan said that Shri Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is the architect of National Integrationof Independent India andon this special occasion it is our duty to foster, reinforce and strengthen the unity of the Nation with renewed vigour and commitment. DRM said that Sardar Patel ranks among the greatest sons of Bharat Mata whose contribution to the nation, most importantly at a critical time in our recent history, remains unmatched. “Marking his birth anniversary, Indian Railways shall be observing Vigilance Awareness Week from 31st October to 06th November, 2022”, he added. He appealed to the staff to strive for Corruption free India and ensure transparency in working system with integrity.

On the occasion of National Unity Day, Rashtriya Ekta Diwas pledge was undertaken at all the stations by the Staff. At ETTC, Satyanarayanapuram, 445 trainees, staff and faculty took part in the integrity pledge. At Vijayawada Railway Station, Shri P.B.N. Prasad, Station Director, Vijayawada administered pledge to the entire staff of Station.
