Shri Shivendra Mohan, Divisional
Railway Manager, Vijayawada Division inaugurated New Digital X-Ray Room at
Railway Hospital, Vijayawada in the presence of Dr. M. Srilakshmi, Chief
Medical Superintendent, Vijayawada Hospital; Shri D. Srinivasa Rao, ADRM, Infrastructure
and Shri M. Srikanth, ADRM, Operations, Vijayawada Division today i.e., 30th
November, 2022. Senior Railway Officials and Executive Members of SCRWWO,
Vijayawada Division took part in the event at Railway Hospital, Vijayawada.
The new set up consists of
state-of-the-art Digital and Computerized Radiography systems worth Rs.1.39
Crore. The Digital X-Ray system comprises of wall stand with Tilting Bucky and
6-way floating and elevating table with advanced features like auto
positioning, auto centric and auto tracking features.
Dr. Jaya Mohan, President, SCRWWO in
the presence of Shri Shivendra Mohan, DRM and Dr. M Srilakshmi inaugurated the
renovated Children’s ward on the first floor of Railway Hospital, Vijayawada.
The renovation was funded by SCRWWO, Vijayawada.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri
Shivendra Mohan, DRM expressed immense happiness for commissioning the new
Digital X-Ray with modern facilities which would immensely benefit the railway
families. He congratulated the team of Doctors of Divisional Hospital,
Vijayawada for their relentless pursuit in setting up this Digital X-Ray
machine on par with corporate hospitals. He also appealed to staff to avail the
latest services of Railway Hospital in the hour of need.
Dr. Jaya Mohan, President, SCRWWO
and Executive members of SCRWWO presented toys and gifts for the play area of
the newly renovated children’s ward on the occasion. Dr. Jaya Mohan thanked the
Railway Hospital team for their warm support and guidance in the welfare
activities of SCRWWO.
Speaking on the occasion Dr. M
Srilakshmi, CMS said that it is a one-of-its-kind machine, which will immensely
benefit railway employees and pensioners due to minimum exposure to radiation.
It generates high quality images with eases the work with image portability
option. The new Digital X-Ray system is eco-friendly as the high-resolution
images can be shared digitally to concerned Doctor with the help of PACS
(Pictures Archiving and Communication System). It negates the need to
physically store the X-Rays and hence results in hospital storage space. Even
critically ill patients can have their X-Rays taken without much trouble due to
auto-positioning feature of the machine. The main advantage of this equipment
is digital X-ray images are generated within a short fraction of 8 seconds and
can be printed into physical copies under one minute. She also thanked the
SCRWWO, Vijayawada for generously coming forward and taking the initiative to
renovate Children's Ward. He said that the new renovated Children’s Ward will
uplift the spirit of ailing children and help in faster recovery.
Dr. M. Sri Lakshmi, CMS dedicated
this Digital X-Ray Department to Dr. Prasanna Kumar, Director General (Railway
Health Services), Railway Board; Dr. D. Rama Rao, Principal Chief Medical
Director, South Central Railway; Shri Shivendra Mohan, DRM and thanked Team
Vijayawada for their support and guidance in setting up the Digital X-Ray
machine. She also profusely thanked the SCRWWO for helping in renovation of the
children’s ward. She said that renovated children's ward consists of 10
in-patient beds along with a team of the pediatric doctors.
