Blood Donation Camp Organized at Railway Hospital, Vijayawada
On the occasion World Blood Donor Day, Railway Hospital, Vijayawada Division, South Central Railway in Collaboration with Red Cross Blood Centre, Vijayawada organized Blood Donation Camp today i.e., 14th June, 2022 at Railway Hospital, Vijayawada. The objective of this blood donation drive is to spread the awareness and importance of blood in the society, actively encourage voluntary blood donation and provide safe blood at affordable cost to the general public and free of cost to the poor. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. M. Sowri Bala, Chief Medical Superintendent, railway Hospital congratulated the Indian Red Cross Blood Centre Staff Hospital and Nursing Staff for taking lead and organizing the camp with great enthusiasm. Dr. M. Sowri Bala, CMS said that after a person donates blood, the body will replenish the blood loss by stimulating the production of new blood cells and the new blood cells would help in maintaining a person’s good health. She appealed to the staff to voluntarily come forward, leave behind the stigma and contribute to the society by helping the needy. CMS also said that blood donor’s generosity and compassion makes a real difference in the lives of those in need of it.
Total 32 Voluntary Donors donated blood on the occasion. Doctor’s and Employee’s took part in the blood donation drive actively.
Dr. L. Ravikant, ACMS, Administration said that World Blood Donor Day is celebrated to honour the heroes who selflessly donate blood to save lives.
