Vijayawada Division TTE safely returns back handbag with cash and 7 lakh worth gold to Passenger

In a most comforting gesture and display of sincerity & integrity, a Ticket Checking Employee of Vijayawada Division returned back a left over hand bag with cash and lots of gold ornaments to the passengers yesterday on Train no. 18520 LTT- Visakhapatnam Express.

Mr. G. Lakshmiah, TTI, Vijayawada Division was manning B6, B5, B4 and S1 coaches while working from Vijayawada to Visakhapatnam, day before yesterday i.e., 18th September, 2023. At about 05.10 am, after train passed Bhimavaram Town, Mr. G. Lakshmiah, TTI was checking joining berths in coach B6. During the check he found a ladies hand bag on the dining table at Berth no. 26 of B6 coach. The mobile inside the bag was ringing continuously.   He enquired the passengers in next coupe and others regarding the hand bag. The co-passengers conveyed that it belongs to a family who got down at Bhimavaram Town. Mr. G. Lakshmiah, TTI immediately informed Commercial Control, Vijayawada regarding the incident and requested the co passengers to attend the mobile in the hand bag. The party pleaded for the missing handbag and said that it contains Rs. 40,000 cash and around 120 grams Gold worth Rs. 6.5 Lakh.  The party requested the TTE to hand over the bag to their brother living at Rajahmundry. Mr. G. Lakshmiah, TTI immediately informed Station Officer Rajahmundry and Commercial Control regarding their request. After the train reached Rajahmundry the hand bag was handed over to her brother in the presence of GRP along with official memo to GRP Police. Also a clear acknowledgement was obtained from her brother regarding the receipt.  The party immensely thanked the TTE for his sincerity and kind gesture. 

Acknowledging this gesture, Shri Vavilapalli Rambabu, IRTS, Sr. Divisional Commercial Manager, Vijayawada presented Mr. G. Lakshmiah, TTI, Vijayawada for display of utmost sincerity, diligence and dedication in duty and also reaching out to passenger in distress.
