Vijayawada Division
conducted Pension Adalat – 2023 at the Railway Divisional Auditorium,
Vijayawada, today, i.e., on 15th December 2023. Shri Narendra A Patil,
Divisional Railway Manager, Vijayawada Division, South Central Railway, graced
the occasion as Chief Guest, along with Shri D Srinivasa Rao, Additional
Divisional Railway Manager (Infrastructure), and Shri M Srikanth, Additional
Divisional Railway Manager (Operations), Vijayawada Division.
Shri M B Muralidhar, Sr.
Divisional Personnel Officer, Vijayawada, welcomed the pensioners and appraised
the gathering about the importance of organising Pension Adalat every year.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Narendra A Patil, Divisional Railway Manager,
said that the importance of the Pension Adalat is mainly redressal of
grievances related to pension, family pension, gratuity, settlement dues, etc.
DRM also suggested that pensioners approach the Personnel and Accounts Officers
for redressal of their grievances on any working day without waiting for the
next Pension Adalat. Shri Narendra A Patil stated that Vijayawada Division has
a total strength of 26,000 pensioners, and only 64 grievances were received
during the current Adalat, which clearly reflects the efficiency of our
Division in resolving the grievances. DRM advised the staff of the Personnel
and Accounts department to put systems in place for quick grievance redressal.
He added that these systems also help us in the long run, as sooner or later
every employee becomes a pensioner and needs to get through the same process.
He also said that we must always remember that we are standing on the shoulders
of all those who have served the Nation through their service on Indian
Railways since 1853. It is a collective effort that we are carrying crores of
passengers every day to their destinations, and the trust of the millions of
passengers is our strength. DRM appreciated the response from pensioners and
also the efforts of the organizers in achieving the objectives of settling the
disputes amicably and resolving the grievances of the retired employees and
their family members.
Shri D Srinivasa Rao, ADRM
(Infrastructure), said that we are always striving hard to meet the
expectations of our serving and retired employees, and sometimes, though there
might be a delay in taking a case to conclusion, it is only because we are
trying to improve our systems, and the upgrade sometimes slows the process. One
such instance now is the updating of the leave module in the Human Resource
Management System (HRMS) module of Indian Railways, ensuring 100% online leave
management and reducing the burden during the preparation of retirement
documents.
Shri M Srikanth, ADRM
(Operations), congratulated the Personnel and Accounts Staff for collectively
closing the grievances in the Pension Adalat from the date of notification. He
said that we at Indian Railways are always striving to improve our working
culture, and surely one day we will see that there will be a Pension Adalat,
where the pensioners will come only to interact with each other and we will
have zero grievances.
Shri G S R Mohan Rao, Dy.
General Manager, the State Bank of India, Centralised Pension Processing Centre
(CPCC), Vijayawada, also shed some light on the solutions to the regular
problems encountered by the pensioners and family pensioners and assured them
they are working with the Railway organisation for quick resolutions of the
cases.
Total 101 cases have been
registered in the Vijayawada Division including 64 received today. Out of 37
earlier received cases, 30 were resolved with an amount of Rs.5,38,957 arranged
towards redressal. Of the 64 cases received today 4 were cleared on the spot.
Representatives of various
Pensioners' Associations and Federations lauded the efforts of Personnel and
Accounts Department in clearing the grievances, implementing the Digital
Pensioners Cards and always welcoming and resolving the cases as a top
priority.
Shri E V Shivaramakrishna,
Sr. Divisional Finance Manager, Shri Katta Anand DPO, and other officers,
Welfare Inspectors and staff of Vijayawada Division attended the Pension Adalat.
