Amrit Samvaad: Connecting Railways with Citizens at Kakinada Town Station

As part of the nationwide Amrit Samvaad campaign, an interactive citizen engagement session was successfully conducted today at Kakinada Town Railway Station on 4th October 2025. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from passengers and local stakeholders, reaffirming the Ministry of Railways’ commitment to inclusive and passenger-centric development.

The session was graced by Shri Satya Prakash, Additional General Manager, South Central Railway, as the Chief Guest, and Shri Srinivas Rao Konda, Additional Divisional Railway Manager (Operations), Vijayawada Division, SCR as the Guest of Honour. The programme saw active participation from DRUCC members Shri Nagendra Rao and Shri A. Phani Ravi Raj Kumar, along with rail passengers.

During the interaction, passengers shared valuable feedback on a wide range of issues, including the provision of coach indicators on Platform 2, coach composition of Gautami Express, punctuality of special trains, installation of lifts and escalators, and provision baby feeding rooms at more stations. They also expressed appreciation for the cleanliness, improved amenities, and the courteous behaviour of staff and RPF personnel, especially during peak travel hours.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Satya Prakash, AGM, SCR, said, “Amrit Samvaad is not merely a feedback session, it is a people’s movement in the spirit of participative governance. Our goal is to ensure that every passenger feels heard, valued, and empowered. The insights received here today will directly shape how we enhance passenger experience across our stations.”

In his remarks, Shri Srinivas Rao Konda, ADRM (Operations), highlighted the collaborative spirit of the initiative, “The suggestions received through Amrit Samvaad are invaluable. They bridge the gap between planning and on-ground realities. Our teams will work towards implementing feasible ideas to further improve passenger comfort, convenience, and safety.”
Physical copies of feedback forms in English, Hindi, and Telugu were distributed and collected from participants, ensuring inclusivity in engagement.

The Amrit Samvaad campaign, being organized at Amrit Stations and key stations across the nation from October 2 to October 31, aims to strengthen dialogue between citizens and railway authorities. It embodies the Panch Pran vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister, promoting pride in India’s heritage, fostering unity, and driving the nation towards Viksit Bharat @2047.

The event at Kakinada Town stands as a testament to Indian Railways’ commitment to “Jan Bhagidari”, citizen partnership in nation-building, while redefining the travel experience with safety, inclusivity, and sustainability at its core.
