Vijayawada Division, SCR Observes Swachhotsav with Pledge, Prabhat Pheri & Awareness Activities








As part of the ongoing Swachhata Hi Seva - 2025 campaign, Vijayawada Division, South Central Railway, organised a series of activities under Swachhotsav today, reinforcing the message of cleanliness and collective responsibility.

The day’s programme commenced with the administration of the Swachhata Pledge by Shri Mohit Sonakiya, Divisional Railway Manager, Vijayawada Division, SCR to officers, staff members, Bharat Scouts & Guides, Cubs & Bulbuls, and Safai Karmacharis at the Divisional Headquarters.

Following the pledge, a vibrant Prabhat Pheri was held from the Divisional Headquarters to Vijayawada Station Platform No.1 Waiting Hall via Jack and Jill School Road. The march spread the message of cleanliness and public participation in maintaining hygiene across railway premises.

At the Gandhi Waiting Hall of Vijayawada Station, the Bharat Scouts & Guides staged an engaging Nukkad Natak on the theme “Mera Seat – Mera Dabba (My Seat, My Coach)” with the key message: “Swachhata begins with ME & YOU!”. The performance drew attention from passengers and onlookers, highlighting the importance of individual responsibility in keeping trains and stations clean.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Mohit Sonakiya, DRM, Vijayawada Division, said, "Cleanliness is not just an activity, it is a habit that must be embraced by each one of us. Indian Railways belongs to every citizen, and together we can make it a model of hygiene, safety, and comfort."

The DRM also commended Shri M. Vamsikanth, Sr.DEnHM, and his team for the successful planning and conduct of Swachhotsav, appreciating their dedication and meticulous efforts in ensuring the smooth execution of all activities. Senior officers present on the occasion included Shri Srinivas Rao Konda, ADRM (Operations), Dr. A.V.S.K. Prasad, CMS, and other branch officers of the Division.

In addition to the events at the Divisional Headquarters and Vijayawada Station, similar programmes were organised across the Division at various stations and offices, engaging staff, passengers, and local communities in activities such as cleanliness drives, awareness rallies, and pledges.
