Three New Lifts Commissioned for the Public at Kavali Railway Station of Vijayawada Division, South Central Railway
Vijayawada Division of South Central Railway today, i.e.,
8th October 2025, commissioned three new lifts at Kavali Railway Station for
public use, further enhancing passenger convenience and accessibility. The
three lifts were installed at a cost of Rs. 1.2 Crore.
Kavali Station, one of the important stations in the
Division, caters to nearly 6,300 passengers daily, with 37 daily and 10
non-daily train services halting here. The newly commissioned lifts will
provide easy movement, especially benefiting senior citizens, Divyangjan rail
passengers, and those carrying luggage.
With these three lifts, the Division has commissioned
eight lifts in the current financial year. As of now, Vijayawada Division has a
total of 59 lifts at 22 stations and 22 escalators at 7 stations, reflecting
the Division’s continued commitment to providing improved passenger amenities
and seamless station access.
Senior railway officials inspected the new facilities and appreciated the efforts of the Engineering and Electrical Departments for completing the work in a time-bound manner.
